A few weeks ago, Oprah.com posted a few benefits of standing desks. Since we posted an article about the benefits of standing and sitting, it seemed fitting we’d share this with you today!
5 Benefits of Standing Desks
1. Despite good intentions, you will hunch over your chair for hours at a time. Slouching while standing at a desk would require real effort.
2. Since you’re already standing, you’re more likely to walk over to someone to ask a question or discuss an idea than to fire off an e-mail, which is healthier and more efficient, and yields richer communication.
3. Sore feet are never an issue, thanks to antifatigue mats, made of spongy vinyl to give me all-day cushioning and support.
5. When a coworker approaches about a touchy issue while you’re sitting, you tend to react defensively. When you’re standing, you feel a greater sense of confidence and control.

5. A newfound appreciation for meetings—or, should I say, sitting breaks.
