Company culture and collaborative spaces are becoming key factors in attracting top talent, and the collaborative workspace is becoming more prominent within Fortune 500s.
From companies as diverse as Google and Zappos, we continue to see the impact of company culture and its direct effect on attracting and retaining top talent. The collaborative workspace is driving the design of corporation environments. Gone are the days of the corner offices and cube farms.
Companies are becoming more and more aware that space is directly tied to great ideas, innovation, and creativity. The end result of all this is that culture, workspace, and flexibility are key drivers in attracting the best of the best.

Here’s an excerpt from another great piece from the Harvard Business Review taking a look at the impact of collaborative workspaces, focusing on Citrix in particular:
Citrix is a company with a unique mission: “Create a world where people can work and play from anywhere.” This means enabling remote collaboration and empowering people to work from any location. But it also means supporting the many different work styles of today’s workforce. Citrix is very serious about this mission for our customers as well as for how we work ourselves, so serious that we are adopting design thinking as a company-wide strategic imperative from our CEO, Mark Templeton. Opening the design collaboration space was a big milestone on our design thinking journey. It’s already played a key role in fostering a more collaborative culture that involves less over-the-wall processes, fewer silos, more and earlier collaboration, and better integration of design into the product development process.
Citrix needed to create a shift in behaviors, and the company realized this would be best achieved by having people live the change, not just being told about it. Their space facilitates this.
